New Perspectives on Xinjiang Textile Industry: Increasing Export Trade
In recent years, a large number of textile and garment companies have invested in factories in Xinjiang, and the amount of investment in textile and garment industries and the number of companies have grown rapidly. According to data from the Xinjiang Textile and Apparel Leading Group Office, from the beginning of 2014 to the end of 2017, there were 616 foreign companies alone, and the actual investment was more than RMB 80 billion.
Aksu Textile Industrial City was established in October 2010 and has a planning area of 54.5 square kilometers. It is a gathering area for textile and garment industry integrating spinning, weaving, printing, dyeing and garment making. At present, there are 383 enterprises in the textile industry, with a total population of 48,000.
According to Zhi Junjie, director of the Human Resources Bureau of Aksu Textile Industry City, Xinjiang, as of the end of 2017, there were 92 textile and garment companies in the textile industry, achieving a gross industrial output value of more than 8 billion yuan, an average annual increase of 34%.
"Ample surplus labor force, coupled with the attraction of preferential policies, more and more companies are willing to come here to land." Zhijun Jie said that this year is expected to have more than 30 textile and garment companies to land, including a number of large export enterprises. "In 2017, the import and export volume of the Textile Industry City reached 68.8 million U.S. dollars."
The rapid development of the textile and garment industry has greatly stimulated employment.
